I like to think Shadowverse World Ranking is based on "Ratings for Shadowverse"

both uses environment isolated from the main game for their tournament
both are also free to enter, however also very competitive (sometimes even more so than the more public open tournaments like JCG and Shadowverse Open)
while Ratings don't really have any prize AFAIK, the hyper-competitive environment is used by pro players a lot to test new cards and decks for new expansion, so you can gather valuable data for meta prediction there. meanwhile, Shadowverse World Ranking is...well to gain the truth of the world apparently.
